Job Opportunity! – Interim Procurement Officer – 12 Month Contract
A local government client of mine have a large number of projects ongoing/upcoming with a diverse portfolio and are in need of bringing in an Interim Procurement Officer to help steer procurements through internal processes in line with the councils contract procedure rules.
Contract Duration: 12 Months (very likely to extend even further)
Rate: DOE
IR35: Inside
Days: 37 hours X 5 days p/w (could maybe consider part time for an exceptional candidate).
Hybrid: Ideally X2 days per week in office (for an experienced candidate could possibly consider 100% remote working).
Start Date: End of January/Beginning of February 2026.
Main Duties:
- Help steer procurements through internal processes in line with contract procedure rules.
- Support individual departments in tasks such as completing documents, getting through legal etc.
- Look at the most efficient and advantageous way of getting procurements out whilst still meeting the requirements.
- Help Project Managers in delivering their schemes.
Successful candidates:
- Must have recent local government experience due to recent legislation changes.
- Have specific experience working in a direct procurement role supporting individual departments.
- CIPS qualified will be beneficial but not essential.
- The focus is on having the right level of experience.
- Experience using frameworks is beneficial.
