Procurement Officer

Summary: The Procurement Officer for Gambling Regulation will support the Procurement Manager in delivering procurement services, ensuring compliance with public procurement policies and internal governance. This role involves managing procurement events, providing professional advice, and developing stakeholder relationships while maintaining effective procurement processes. The position is critical in ensuring value for money and adherence to regulatory standards within the Gambling Commission. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, alongside a solid understanding of procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and deliver procurement events across the entire procurement lifecycle in compliance with Public Procurement Policy and internal governance.
• Provide professional procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels.
• Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships for cross-departmental work.
• Review finance business cases and complete procurement documentation, including tenders and contracts.
• Track, monitor, and produce procurement reports and metrics, ensuring compliance with governance.
• Process procurement requests using various e-procurement tools and platforms.

Key Skills:

• MCIPS Qualified (minimum level 4) or equivalent experience in government or regulatory organizations.
• Proven track record of supporting colleagues with limited procurement knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability, particularly in evaluating financial information.
• Ability to plan, manage, and deliver procurement pipelines within deadlines.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in E-Procurement Systems and MS Office.
