Summary: The Procurement Manager role at a prestigious higher education institution involves driving value for money and ensuring compliance within a complex organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Procurement to enhance procurement systems and develop strategic frameworks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head of Procurement to review and enhance procurement systems, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Develop and implement a strategic procurement framework, covering policies, procedures, and supplier management.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with financial regulations and delegated financial authorities.
  • Provide expert advice and support to stakeholders on procurement policies, procedures, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Manage high-value tenders and procurement exercises, ensuring governance and transparency.
  • Maintain supplier due diligence, contract management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct market analysis to drive efficiency, innovation, and cost savings.
  • Ensure adherence to public procurement regulations, including managing FTS tendering processes and reporting requirements.
  • Train and support internal teams on best procurement practices and compliance.
  • Monitor contract performance and supplier relationships, ensuring value for money and service quality.

Key Skills:

  • CIPS qualification or equivalent procurement experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing procurement processes, tenders, and contract negotiations.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-campus environment and prioritise workload effectively.
