Summary: The Procurement Manager for Facilities Management at AstraZeneca is responsible for developing and implementing category strategies that support workplace initiatives. This role involves managing supplier relationships, coordinating procurement activities, and ensuring alignment with business needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic category plans for facilities management and real estate.
  • Advise on and drive procurement strategies globally to support AstraZeneca’s growth agenda.
  • Coordinate the implementation of category plans to ensure procurement activities deliver expected business value.
  • Develop, evaluate, and lead strategic relationships with partners and suppliers.
  • Advise on contracts, agreements, and sourcing strategies for complex products and services.
  • Propose and implement improvements and innovations within the designated spend area.
  • Direct new initiatives and improvement programs to meet sustainability goals.
  • Support performance across a global multi-functional team to ensure timely delivery of procurement projects.
  • Advise on Sustainable Procurement strategy for the SME area.

Key Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of sourcing facilities management categories.
  • Experience in hard and soft services, security, occupational health, and real estate.
  • Expertise in procurement category management, especially within the EMEA region.
  • Proven supplier relationship management skills.
  • Strong senior stakeholder management experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in a global matrix environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Comfortable managing risk and ambiguous situations.
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.

Your New Role
The Procurement Associate Director Facilities Management is responsible for delivering the category strategy and sourcing the commercial partnerships that support our Workplace strategies in the Facilities Management teams. You will develop long-term strategic plans, manage costs, and create sourcing and supplier management strategies. Partnering with key stakeholders and the market, you will ensure that Category Strategies align with current and future business needs, continually assessing and developing the supply base to meet changing demands. You will support a wide range of categories including hard and soft services, security, occupational health, and real estate. You will partner across a wide range of stakeholders from manufacturing to research and development – each with its own needs and dynamics. This is a pivotal time in the development of our facilities management strategy, as we explore new and innovative ways to address our changing workplace needs, ensuring that our environment promotes collaboration and vibrancy as we aim to become an $80bn organisation by 2030.

Accountabilities
Develop strategic category plans for facilities management and real estate
Advise on and drive procurement strategies across the world, supporting AstraZeneca’s ambitious growth agenda
Coordinate the implementation of the category plan to ensure that procurement activities deliver the expected business value
Develop, evaluate and lead strategic relationships (partner and supplier) to ensure that category strategies are aligned to current and future business needs
Advise on contracts, agreements, and sourcing strategies for the supply of complex products and services with new and existing suppliers throughout the procurement network
Propose and implement improvements & innovations within the designated spend area
Direct new initiatives and improvement programmes aimed at ensuring AstraZeneca sustainability goals are met
Support performance across a global multi-functional team to enable procurement projects to deliver on time, cost and quality standards
Advise on Sustainable Procurement strategy for this SME area

Essential Skills/Experience:
In depth knowledge and experience of sourcing facilities management categories
Experience in a wide range of categories including hard and soft services, security, occupational health, and real estate
Expertise in procurement category management especially within EMEA region
Proven supplier relationship management skills
Strong senior stakeholder management experience
Proven leadership experience in a global matrix environment, both within organisation and with external stakeholders
Excellent communication skills and influencing skills
Comfortable with managing risk and ambiguous situations
Degree level qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable Skills/Experience:
Experienced in managing projects to deliver engagement and change
Proficiency in second language
CIPS certified
