Summary: Our client, a Military, Air & Information (MAI) organization, is seeking a Procurement Engineer for a 6-month contract at Samlesbury Aerodrome. The role requires expertise in procurement within the Defence & Security sector and necessitates security clearance. The position primarily involves onsite work for 3 days a week, with potential reduction to 1 day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing procurement schedules and plans
- Executing procurement activities to meet project requirements
- Interfacing with suppliers and negotiating contracts to ensure quality and cost efficiency
- Monitoring supplier performance and delivering regular reports
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Supporting the wider procurement team in achieving strategic objectives
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of procurement objectives
- Managing procurement risks and implementing mitigation strategies
Key Skills:
- Experience as a buyer within the defence and security sector
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and regulations
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
- Proficiency in preparing and managing procurement documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work onsite at Samlesbury Aerodrome 3 days a week (potentially reducing to 1 day)
