Summary: Our client, a Military, Air & Information (MAI) organization, is seeking a Procurement Engineer for a 6-month contract at Samlesbury Aerodrome. The role requires expertise in procurement within the Defence & Security sector and necessitates security clearance. The position primarily involves onsite work for 3 days a week, with potential reduction to 1 day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing procurement schedules and plans
  • Executing procurement activities to meet project requirements
  • Interfacing with suppliers and negotiating contracts to ensure quality and cost efficiency
  • Monitoring supplier performance and delivering regular reports
  • Maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Supporting the wider procurement team in achieving strategic objectives
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of procurement objectives
  • Managing procurement risks and implementing mitigation strategies

Key Skills:

  • Experience as a buyer within the defence and security sector
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and regulations
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Proficiency in preparing and managing procurement documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work onsite at Samlesbury Aerodrome 3 days a week (potentially reducing to 1 day)

Our client - A Military, Air & Information (MAI) is currently seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer to join their team on a contract basis at the Samlesbury Aerodrome. This role is within the Defence & Security sector, offering an exciting opportunity for professionals experienced in procurement and buying. This contract position has a duration of 6 months and requires security clearance (SC, can start on BPSS). The role primarily requires onsite presence for 3 days a week, which may be reduced to 1 day.
