Procurement Coordinator

Role Summary

Support the Procurement and Material Control function to ensure the availability of all parts required for the build of various complex systems in a low-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Activities

  • Action RFQs and POs from purchasing BOMs and requisitions to ensure components are available for system builds to meet demanding delivery schedules across both R&D and production.
  • Process quotes received and support vendor selection based on price, delivery, and quality, enabling timely customer product delivery.
  • Expedite materials and manage order changes, escalating where necessary.
  • Support goods-in, quality control, and stock management processes ensuring all material transactions are recorded in the MRP system.
  • Work with the engineering and production build teams to ensure material handover is clear and flexible according to project needs.
  • Provide timely progress and status reports to the Procurement Lead.
  • Develop and maintain positive, respected relationships with engineering, procurement, build, and customer teams.

Essential responsibilities

  • Generate POs and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support goods-in, stock control, and kitting functions - monitor inventory and maintain accurate system transactions for all stock movements.
  • Ensure batch and serial traceability requirements are met across purchasing, receiving, and inventory transactions.
  • Report any delays or deviations in a timely manner to the procurement and engineering teams.
  • Support other business functions according to business needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities - POs raised, deliveries received, using existing software and database tools.
  • Support general procurement and material control administration as required.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience in purchasing, planning, or materials roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Working knowledge of batch and serial traceability processes and documentation.
  • Able to read engineering drawings and understand manufacturing processes.
  • Willing to take on a variety of tasks according to business needs.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong communication and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Enthusiastic about supporting business needs and helping the team achieve goals in a dynamic environment.
