Summary: The IT Procurement Consultant role involves leading and managing global strategic sourcing and procurement projects within the IT Business Applications Software category for a Fortune 500 financial institution. This hybrid position requires collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders to enhance value and ensure compliance while negotiating contracts and managing procurement performance metrics. The consultant will work primarily in London, with a mix of office and remote work, on a 9-month contract with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage global strategic sourcing and procurement projects within the IT Business Applications Software spend category.
  • Conduct strategic sourcing events, analyzing and presenting data and recommendations to management.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing across Business Application and Banking Services categories.
  • Manage category spend analytics and develop multi-year strategic sourcing roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance value and innovation.
  • Review statements of work and contract renewals for commercial improvements.
  • Draft and create various agreements, leading contract negotiations across multiple functions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to policies and explain key clauses.
  • Manage regulatory and compliance requirements and present procurement performance metrics to senior management.
  • Analyze supplier fitness and maintain relationships with key partners.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Software/Banking Applications Category at a financial services organization.
  • Experience in sourcing or procurement focused on indirect sourcing with knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Strong analytical, sourcing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suites with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems: SAP Ariba, Peoplesoft, and Source to Pay (Coupa).
  • Superior project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage conflicting workloads and work under pressure.
  • Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Finance.
  • MBA or advanced degree and professional Procurement/Supply Chain Management designation are a strong plus.

They are looking for an IT Procurement Consultant to join their team on an initial 9 month contract with a strong possibility of extension. Based at the offices in London the role is hybrid working being office based 3 days a week, 2 days working from home, standard office hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with occasional out of hours for meetings.

The Role Responsible for leading and managing critical global strategic sourcing and procurement projects within the IT Business Applications Software spend category (~$500M annual spend). Leads strategic sourcing events including collecting, analyzing, and presenting data and recommendations to various levels of management across the organization on opportunities, risks, and where to prioritize software investments. Responsible for contract & price negotiations across the Business Application (software) and Banking Services categories. Thought leader with experience. Responsible for Category Management including but not limited to category spend analytics, multi-year strategic sourcing roadmaps, acquiring and educating the enterprise on markets, suppliers, and trends. Working collaboratively with suppliers to enhance value and innovation to the organisation. Review statements of work and contract renewals, analysing in detail areas that can be commercially improved whilst ensure strong risk position. Responsible for contract review, drafting and creation of various agreements, including NDAs, Master Agreements (SaaS, Software License Agreements, etc.), Service Level Agreements, Statements of Work, etc. leading and facilitating all aspects of contract negotiations across multiple Risk Control Functions (e.g. Legal, Privacy, Risk) and ongoing contract administration. Liaising with internal stakeholders (legal, business) ensuring adherence to NT policy and explaining key clauses for NT business partners to make informed decisions. Manages and supports regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g. OFAC, FCPA, DORA, Spend Analysis, Client Relationships). Supports and helps present Procurement performance metrics and projects to senior management. Management of supplier fitness, including analyzing overall business and financial performance of potential and existing suppliers. Establish and maintain relationship with key partners, education on policy/guidelines and resolving related purchasing issues.

Skills and Background Extensive experience in Software/Banking Applications Category at a financial services organisation Extensive experience in Sourcing or Procurement related field focused on indirect sourcing with an in depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement. Strong analytical, sourcing, negotiation and communication skills. Technically adept with basic application software; proficient in MS Office Suites with advanced Excel skills Experience with ERP systems: SAP Ariba, Peoplesoft, and Source to Pay (Coupa) Demonstrated success in time management; superior project management skills, attention to detail, thorough and organized. Must have a high attention to detail, be thorough and organized. Used to working in high pressure environments, managing conflicting workloads appropriately to ensure stakeholders are fully aware of the individual project updates. A ‘self starter’ who can work alone or as part of a team. Must be flexible on prioritization- can pivot on deals depending on the contract/legal situation. Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance. MBA or other advanced degree and a professional Procurement/ Supply Chain Management designation (e.g. CSCP, CPM) are a strong plus.
