Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective procurement support across multiple service areas within the business and assist with procurement exercises for commonly bought goods and services.
  • Ensure procurement exercises comply with clients' procurement regulations and the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Work with clients' electronic tendering portal and contract management system.
  • Assist in maintaining the Contracts Register to meet transparency obligations.
  • Draft and send appropriate outcome letters that are legally compliant and timely.
  • Assist in developing procurement procedures, processes, manuals, and guidance notes to support compliance and best practices.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in a public sector procurement environment or a good understanding of public sector procurement.
  • Ability to contribute to successful project outcomes and engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Professional knowledge and judgment in decision-making.
  • Computer literacy with good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and adaptability to new technology.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload within defined requirements.

Active Staff is seeking a Procurement Assistant on a 31 week contract based in Esher, Surrey.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective procurement support across multiple service areas within the business and assist with procurement exercises for commonly bought goods and services.
  • Provide support to ensure procurement exercises comply with our clients procurement regulations and the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Work with our clients electronic tendering portal and contract management system.
  • Assist in our clients transparency obligations including maintaining the Contracts Register.
  • Ensure appropriate outcome letters are drafted, legally compliant and sent in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the development of procurement procedures, processes, manuals and guidance notes which support procurement compliance and capability and reflect best practice.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience of working in public sector procurement environment and/or an ability to demonstrate a good understanding of procurement within the public sector.
  • Contributing to successful project outcomes and engaging with all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional knowledge and judgement in making decisions.
  • Computer literacy, good knowledge of using Microsoft Word and Excel, able to adapt to using new technology.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload, within defined requirements for the role.
