Summary: The Procurement Advisor role involves partnering with internal departments to ensure compliant procurement activities and delivering training on contract management. The position requires managing the procurement process from requirement definition to contract award while ensuring value for money. Additionally, the advisor will support contract management and development of procurement processes within a public sector context. This role is hybrid, requiring one day per week onsite in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Senior Procurement Partners to support directorate Leaders and their SMTs in understanding procurement requirements and creating medium to long term plans.
- Provide advice, support, and manage the procurement process for relevant contracts, ensuring value for money.
- Manage and execute all procurement activities in line with regulations and controls, adopting best practices.
- Provide guidance to managers on effective procurement approaches, instilling value for money awareness.
- Support the creation and management of segmentation processes and MI.
- Review spend and service against contracts, liaising with suppliers on anomalies and performance issues.
- Undertake reviews of spend and services against contracts, identifying issues and taking corrective action.
- Analyze supplier suitability, negotiate contract terms to drive better performance or value for money.
- Lead supplier review meetings to ensure services and terms meet directorate requirements.
- Work on specific projects to enhance procurement and contract management functions.
- Mentor the procurement officer for directorate areas.
- Deliver a rolling programme of procurement and contract management training.

- Experience of best practice procurement, tendering, and contract management.
- Experience in public sector procurement.
- Strong communication skills, influencing ability, and resilience.
- CIPS qualification.

Procurement Advisor - CIPS, Government / Public Sector - (Inside IR35) 3-4 months London - Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite. £350-£400 per day (inside IR35) We are looking for a Procurement Advisor to partner with internal departments to ensure robust, compliant procurement activity, deliver training on contract management, and support planning and execution of efficient, effective procurement and contract management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Work closely with Senior Procurement Partners to help support directorate Leaders and their SMTs to understand current and future procurement requirements to create a medium to long term plan
- Provide advice, support and manage the procurement process for relevant contracts, from defining the requirements to contract award, ensuring value for money achieved.
- Manage and execute all procurement activities in line with required regulations and controls, ensuring best practice is adopted.
- Provide guidance and education to inform managers of effective approaches to procurement (process, policy, regulations), instilling value for money awareness.
- Contract Management Support the creation of and manage appropriate segmentation processes and MI.
- Support with reviewing spend and service against contracts, liaising with suppliers on any anomalies, performance issues, escalating and resolving as appropriate.
- Undertake reviews of spend and services against specific contracts, identifying issues, and taking corrective action as necessary.
- Analyse supplier suitability, contract terms and negotiate where appropriate to drive better performance or value for money.
- Take a lead in supporting supplier review meetings (tenders, performance reviews), to ensure appropriate services and terms are agreed to support directorate requirements.
- Development Work on specific projects and reviews, as directed by the Head of Procurement to support the development of new processes, systems, to enhance the procurement and contract management function.
