Summary: The Process Engineering Industrial Placement at Genesis offers Chemical Engineering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both traditional oil and gas and energy transition projects. As a 2026 industrial placement student, you will work alongside experienced engineers and utilize various software design tools while being based in the London office. The role emphasizes collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines and provides mentoring and business development exposure. This position is open to students who have completed their penultimate year of study and have the right to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the UK Operating Centre Process Engineering team on various projects.
- Utilize software design tools such as HYSYS FlareSim and Genesis bespoke in-house tools.
- Gain exposure to other engineering disciplines including Field Development Planning and Flow Assurance.
- Participate in the development of internal tools to support engineering efforts.
- Engage in mentoring and business development activities.

You will be based in our London Office, at 100 Fetter Lane, where you will have the opportunity to learn how to use a range of software design tools which are used within our industry such as: HYSYS FlareSim, Genesis bespoke in-house tools like: Gen-CAT for Carbon Assessments, ADEPT for Cost Estimation and Field Evaluation. While at Genesis you will be situated within the UK Operating Centre Process Engineering team, however, you will also get experience collaborating with other disciplines, including: Field Development Planning, Flow Assurance, Safety & Environmental, Dynamic Simulation and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
