Summary: VARITE is seeking a qualified Process Engineer - Trim & Final for a 12-month fixed-term position in Gaydon, UK. The role involves leading a team of Manufacturing Engineers, developing efficient manufacturing processes, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Trim and Final operations and strong leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers in the Trim and Final area, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Develop and implement department strategy for power tooling, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Implement efficient manufacturing processes for Trim and Final operations, ensuring quality standards, cost targets, and delivery schedules are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product design for manufacturability and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and capacity planning for new product introductions and process improvements.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, identifying and mitigating potential risks in the manufacturing process.
- Evaluate and select equipment, tools, and technologies to optimize production capabilities.
- Provide technical expertise to resolve manufacturing issues or bottlenecks in Trim and Final operations.
- Support the launches of new vehicles, providing relevant process, tooling, and facilities.
- Implement ECR/ECN with cost efficiency and sustainable process mapping.
- Develop cost-effective solutions on Poka Yoke.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in automotive manufacturing engineering with a focus on Trim and Final operations.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Catia/Pro E software and manufacturing tools.
