Summary: The Process Engineer role focuses on supporting liquid and powder process engineering projects within the FMCG sector, specifically in food and beverage applications. The position involves delivering high-quality design outputs while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure practical and economical solutions. The engineer will also be responsible for developing process technology and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This role requires a proactive approach to engineering design and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute process engineering design activities, including specifying pump & heat exchangers characteristics and implementing hygienic design standards.
- Aid with developing Process Engineering standards and procedures.
- Aid with developing accurate detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets, and drawings to specify the process engineering requirements of technologies.
- Develop new process technology in collaboration with Engineering teams and R&D group.
- Provide customer assistance to develop Basic Engineering Packages, including process parameters, heat and mass balances, process specifications, P&ID development, and process safety design.
- Ensure all process design, development, & validation is managed in accordance with the Quality management system.
- Produce specifications and performance data sheets for process equipment and instrumentation upon commissioning.
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with customers and members of the S4 team.
- Develop and maintain P&IDs throughout the entire project life cycle.
- Prepare Process Risk Assessments.
- Prepare commissioning documentation and participate in commissioning tasks.
- Carry out surveys at site visits.
Key Skills:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related engineering discipline (2:1 or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum 3 years SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience.
- Practical experience in process, FMCG, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical equipment design.
- Pro-active attitude towards engineering design with technical safety and environmental aspects.
- Proven level of competence with process engineering calculations.
- Display analytical, engineering, and innovation skills to drive growth opportunities.
- Experience in Design for Manufacture and production engineering support.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in written and verbal form.

Job Purpose
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join the Engineering to support the demands of the growing business in liquid and powder process solution equipment. The role supports liquid and powder process engineering projects across food, beverage, brewery, bakery, dairy, and utility applications, delivering high-quality cradle-to-grave design outputs that meet industry standards and customer requirements. You will work within a multidisciplinary project team, contributing your own engineering ideas while ensuring designs are practical, economical, and suitable for manufacture and installation.
Key Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:
- Execute process engineering design activities, such as specifying pump & heat exchangers characteristics, and implementation of hygienic design standards.
- Aid with developing Process Engineering standards and procedures
- Aid with developing accurate detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets and drawings to specify the process engineering requirements of our technologies.
