Summary: This role as a Process Engineer within the Monitoring and Diagnostics team in Northern Ireland focuses on developing advanced monitoring technologies for electrical substations. The position involves managing various projects to enhance global supply chain processes and product quality while collaborating across teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for new product introduction, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong communication and engineering skills are essential for success in this dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Project planning and execution of tasks to set timeline
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management
- Lead the development and execution of process validation plans, including Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and statistical process control (SPC)
- Collaborate with the product development team during the design and prototyping stages to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
- Provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT)
- Improve H&S and Ergonomics in production cells
- Learn and apply lean tools and techniques
- Develop and implement Process improvement through Assembly and test automation
- Create, review and update process documentation as required
- Analysis of existing processes and execution of improvements
- Root cause analysis of reported production and process issues
- Collaborate with the quality team to establish quality control measures, standards, and procedures
- Collaborate with production teams to provide support in troubleshooting manufacturing problems
- Review Production line Layout and restructuring
- Support of daily production activities
Key Skills:
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Degree in Engineering/Science (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical and Mechanical)
- Competency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated time management capability
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects
- Good writing skills, accuracy, and an eye for detail
- Previous industrial work experience (desired)
- Ability to collaborate across various functions and levels within the operations team (desired)
- Confident at programming in Excel and managing or developing databases/macros (desired)
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (desired)
- Familiar with programming language example Labview (desired)
- Familiar with general purpose test equipment (desired)
