Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement assembly processes and facilities to meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.

  • Ensure robust process planning, including build simulations and PFMEAs.
  • Support assembly process strategy for manufacturing.
  • Verify assembly processes and equipment at suppliers and manufacturing facilities.
  • Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate.
  • Achieve equipment capability and availability targets.
  • Plan and implement all written processes for manufacturing.

Job Description Segula Technologies have an opportunity for an ambitious Manufacturing Process Engineer to join the team. This team supports pioneering electrification developments in support of our clients’ high-profile range of exciting electric vehicles. You will be at the fore front of developing new, technologically advanced, electric propulsion systems. The Electrical Drive Unit (EDU) assembly team is responsible for the development and introduction of industry leading processes and facilities incorporating state of the art manufacturing technologies. The successful applicant will be working closely with Product Development Engineers and suppliers to ensure that EDU system designs meet world class quality and efficiency standards. The role offers the exciting opportunity of periodic European & Overseas travel to work alongside technology leading suppliers. Key Performance Indicators Delivery of robust assembly processes and equipment to safety, quality and cost expectations Adherence to all client systems and processes for new product introduction Support Product Creation and Delivery Systems (PCDS) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure gateway adherence. Zero defect launch Zero accident installation. Zero Ergonomic Red issues at launch.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities You will utilise your knowledge to develop and implement assembly processes and facilities to deliver the safety, quality delivery and cost objectives Detailed planning, development and implementation of installation timing plans with key suppliers Ensure robust process planning including build simulations and PFMEA’s. Support assembly process strategy for manufacturing. Feasibility of design to suit modern assembly and test requirements Assembly process & equipment verification at suppliers and at manufacturing facility Support management activities through development and monitoring of timing plans Support new model planning through development of process estimates against study requests Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate. Achieve equipment capability and availability targets. Support the resolution of technical issues where appropriate. Planning, developing and implementation of all written Processes for manufacturing. Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing. Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.

Qualifications Previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques, especially for Electrical Drive Units Proven PFMEA and Control Plan experience to lead structured risk analysis and develop comprehensive process controls. Experience of facility installation, project management, capability validation, commissioning and product launch. Ability to problem solve technical and manufacturing issues. Candidates should be self-motivated with sound Engineering, communication skills, ideally with experience within volume manufacturing. Ability to work within cross-functional teams and flexibility to support projects from early concepts to Launch. Good IT skills and competent with MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project). Ability to use CAD packages to review engineering drawings and models (Catia V6 & Teamcentre etc) Ideally, educated to Degree level, HNC / HND in Manufacturing Systems or a similar engineering discipline. However, candidates with relevant experience will also be considered. Understanding of safe automated and manual manufacturing system Previous project management experience advantageous Working understanding of GSPAS or similar process creation systems advantageous Highly motivated and able to work under own initiative.
