Red Snapper Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of the National Probation Service for a Probation Services Officer to work in an Approved Premises setting.

As a Probation Services Officer in Approved Premises, you'll play a crucial role in supporting individuals on probation during a pivotal stage of their rehabilitation. You'll help residents to stabilise their lives, engage with support services, comply with the conditions of their supervision, and take steps to reduce the risk of reoffending.

Working within a dynamic, residential environment, you'll be part of a team responsible for delivering a safe, structured, and supportive setting that fosters positive change.

Location: Ipswich, Suffolk, IP4 5AA Contract: Until 24/12 (with potential for extension) Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: 16.39 p/h PAYE or 21.59 Umbrella Key Responsibilities:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working with individuals in a criminal justice, social care, housing, or similar setting as Probation Service Officer

  • Understanding of risk, safeguarding, and supporting vulnerable adults

  • Basic understanding of the Criminal Justice System and the role of Approved Premises

Desirable:

  • A relevant qualification (eg, NVQ Level 3 in Criminal Justice, Social Care, or 5 GCSEs incl. English and Maths)

  • Recent experience with probation or a related criminal justice agency

  • Knowledge of health and safety and safeguarding procedures in a residential setting
