Private Sector Housing Officer - London Borough £50-£60 per hour | 6-Month Contract | Hybrid Working (2/3 Days On Site)

We're working with a London Borough seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a proactive and well-structured service where your enforcement expertise will make an immediate impact.

The Role

You will manage a busy and varied caseload, with a strong focus on enforcement activity, including:

  • Investigating housing complaints and carrying out inspections
  • Enforcing under the Housing Act 2004 and associated legislation
  • Processing and enforcing HMO Licensing applications
  • Issuing Civil Penalties and drafting statutory notices
  • Preparing detailed case files for tribunal and court proceedings
  • Advising landlords and tenants on legislative compliance

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong experience in enforcement within Private Sector Housing
  • Proven expertise in HMO Licensing and Civil Penalties
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS
  • Confidence managing complex and contentious cases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This role offers £50-£60 per hour (dependent on experience), hybrid working with 2-3 days per week on site, and a supportive management structure.
