Summary: The PCB Design Engineer will be responsible for the creation and management of schematic and footprint libraries, as well as the generation and version control of Bills of Materials (BOMs). The role involves liaising with procurement and manufacturing teams regarding components and creating PCB manufacturing and assembly data packs. This position requires proficiency in Mentor or Xpedition design flows and a strong understanding of EMC-aware layout practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation and management of schematic and footprint libraries
  • Generation and version control of Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Liaison with procurement and manufacturing operations teams regarding new, end-of-life, and obsolete components
  • Creation of PCB manufacturing and assembly data packs
  • PCB supplier liaison and management
  • PCB layout for development and production designs

Key Skills:

  • Schematic and layout component part library creation and management
  • Creation of footprints suitable for multi-sourced components
  • Development of in-house design constraints compatible with multiple assembly house rules
  • Proficiency with Mentor or Xpedition design flows (schematic capture, design constraints, PCB layout)
  • Knowledge of HDI stack-ups, via structures, and controlled-impedance routing
  • Strong understanding of EMC-aware layout and mitigation of crosstalk and interference
