Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out structural analysis using hand calculations and Finite Element methods.

  • Perform metallic/composite analysis and Finite Element optimisation.
  • Assess mechanisms and multi-body dynamics.
  • Execute crash analysis.
  • Make quick assessments to progress design activities efficiently.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

The Mechanical Analysis Group are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join its team in Stevenage. The group consists of over 30 engineers working across a wide spectrum of cutting-edge military systems. Working for an internationally recognised company, you will play a critical role in ensuring that products deliver the necessary performance against key structural.

What are we looking for?

* Degree qualified in a STEM subject.
* Proven ability to carry out structural analysis through the application of hand calculations and Finite Element methods (e.g. Hypermesh, Optistruct, etc.) with experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Static, dynamic, fatigue analysis;
* Metallic/composite analysis;
* Finite Element optimisation & Design of Experiments;
* Assessment of mechanisms and multi body dynamics;
* Crash analysis.
* Ability to make quick/simple assessments to progress design activities in an efficient manner.
* Self-motivated individuals, who are great problem solvers, can take responsibility and work independently as well as a part of multi-disciplinary team.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to network and influence internal and external customers.
* Relevant experience in an equivalent or comparable industry would be advantageous.
