Summary: The Principal Property Surveyor role involves working with a Local Authority to address land and property issues, provide strategic advice, and manage portfolio operations. The position requires negotiation skills for property disposals and the preparation of valuations and marketing campaigns. The role is hybrid, requiring two days on-site work, and is expected to last 3-6 months. The position is classified as inside IR35 with a daily rate of £450.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of land and property valuations for various purposes.
- Negotiate sales, purchases, leases, wayleaves, and easements.
- Provide strategic property advice to senior officers for effective portfolio management.
- Prepare sales and letting particulars and assist in marketing campaigns.
- Collect and analyze evidence of property transactions.
- Attend meetings and draft reports for committees and working groups.
- Contribute to corporate and directorate initiatives or policies.
- Undertake negotiations with partners and external organizations.
- Contribute to service transformation and improvement activities.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director or Chief Officer.
Key Skills:
- Corporate membership of the RICS in relevant faculties (desirable).
- Full understanding of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and related legislation.
- Practical experience in valuation principles and estate management.
- Customer-focused with strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
