Summary: The Principal Process Engineer / Process Consultant will join the Asset Optimisation Team to provide wastewater process engineering consultancy across the UK. This role involves leading technical teams in executing asset optimisation projects and developing innovative process solutions. The position requires strategic support and technical direction to shape projects and programmes, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wastewater treatment plant design and operation, along with strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical teams in the execution of process optimisation studies and solution triage.
  • Develop process optimisation initiatives and solutions at both site and programme level.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and strategic consultancy advice to clients and joint venture partners.
  • Review process design deliverables such as calculations, drawings, reports, presentations, and proposals.
  • Support troubleshooting and embedding of solutions.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in the design, operation, and optimisation of wastewater treatment plants.
  • Knowledge of the UK water utility asset life cycle process.
  • Background in an engineering consultancy or contracting design environment.
  • Operational utility experience.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions biased.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and influence senior colleagues.

Overview As AMP08 ramps up, we are looking for a Principal Process Engineer / Process Consultant to join our Asset Optimisation Team. Our team provides wastewater process engineering consultancy to support our clients across the UK to get the very best from their assets and programmes. We are an agile technical team of process engineers working within capital delivery frameworks and on the front line with operational teams to develop innovative, practical and digital process solutions. Our team delivers optimisation studies at feasibility, concept, optioneering and preliminary design stages to mitigate risk, return sites to compliance, or enable low or no build solutions to be provided.

Job Description Provide strategic support and technical direction to our water sector frameworks to define and shape projects and programmes. Technically lead the execution of asset optimisation projects and direct technical teams to propose, develop, and define feasibility designs and process optimisation solutions.
