Summary: The Principal Mechanical Engineer role involves supporting high-profile defence programmes within the UK's defence infrastructure, particularly in nuclear and high-integrity engineering projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support major decommissioning and infrastructure upgrades at a leading defence establishment.
  • Contribute to submarine decommissioning demonstrator development for the UK MoD at Rosyth.
  • Provide technical support frameworks for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).

Key Skills:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng).
  • Experience in the nuclear or defence sectors.
  • Strong background in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Inventor.
  • Proven experience with mechanical or manual handling systems.
  • Eligible for SC clearance (must have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years).

Principal Mechanical Engineer

Location: Warrington, Manchester (Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite)

Contract: 12 months

Rate: £57-£78/hr (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Security Clearance: Must be eligible for SC
