Summary: The role of Senior/Principal Civil Engineer involves delivering design solutions in the water industry while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The position is available on a 12-month contract or permanent basis, with a hybrid working arrangement in Manchester. The engineer will lead design efforts, mentor junior staff, and engage with clients and project teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
- Identify efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these to client and project team.
- Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
- Prepare design risk assessments, reports, and specifications.
- Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional, and water company standards.
- Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
- Undertake work using formal processes and procedures.
- Estimate hours required for design packages.
- Attend and present designs at meetings.
