Summary: The Principal Auditor role involves supporting the Head of Internal Audit and the Internal Audit manager in executing the Council’s Annual Internal Audit strategy. The position requires delivering high-quality audit outcomes with independent assurance statements and actionable recommendations. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of the Council’s Annual Internal Audit strategy.
- Deliver high-quality audit outcomes with independent and objective assurance statements.
- Provide helpful recommendations, advice, and counsel to clients.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Internal Audit and Internal Audit manager.
Key Skills:
- IIA Qualified or Part-Qualified, or other relevant Accountancy qualifications.
- Experience in risk-based internal auditing within a Local Government environment.
- Ability to develop and implement a risk-based audit plan.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
