Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher for a full-time position at a primary SEN school in Twickenham. The role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by delivering tailored lessons and implementing strategies from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored, differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN needs
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals
  • Implement strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Create a structured, safe, and nurturing learning environment
  • Use adapted teaching approaches, sensory strategies, and visual supports where appropriate
  • Monitor pupil progress and adjust teaching strategies to support individual development

Key Skills:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEN / SEND in a school or specialist setting
  • Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs, or learning difficulties
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils who require additional support
  • Strong classroom management and inclusive teaching strategies
  • QTS or relevant teaching qualification (desirable but not essential depending on experience)
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
