Summary: This interim role seeks an experienced Pricing Consultant to enhance cost forecasting models for a leading UK B2B energy supplier. The consultant will review and improve pricing methodologies while providing expert analysis and recommendations based on industry benchmarks. The position requires hands-on model building and collaboration with an internal pricing team. The contract duration is between 3 to 9 months, with a start date in January.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a deep-dive review into existing non-energy cost models and methodologies
- Benchmark current practices against external models and competitor methods
- Provide recommendations for model and process improvements
- Design, build, or refine forecasting models in Excel and/or Python/Dataiku
- Work directly with pricing and data teams to ensure models are integrated and usable
- Deliver training and handover documentation for business-as-usual continuity
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in UK non-commodity pricing or forecasting within a B2B energy retail environment
- Proven ability to build or significantly enhance forecast models
- Deep understanding of cost bricks such as DUoS, TNUoS, CfD, FiT, levies, etc.
- Comfortable working independently as a contractor or consultant
- Strong analytical foundation; able to communicate technical concepts to non-specialists
- Solid Excel proficiency
- Working knowledge of Python and/or Dataiku advantageous
- 10+ years in the sector, 5+ years as a consultant
