Summary: An exciting opportunity exists for a Detective Inspector to join the Counter Terrorism Unit South East (CTPSE) under the Prevent Strand of the UK's Counter-Terrorism strategy. This role focuses on preventing individuals from being drawn into terrorism and supporting those vulnerable to radicalisation through collaboration with local authorities and community organizations. The Detective Inspector will play a crucial role in enhancing national security by fulfilling the Prevent duty requirements outlined in the Counter Terrorism & Security Act 2015. This position is specifically offered to substantive Detective Inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Detective Inspector to work within the Counter Terrorism Unit South East (CTPSE) under the Prevent Strand of the United Kingdom’s Counter-Terrorism strategy (CONTEST) by connecting CT policing, neighbourhood policing and communities. This role is offered to substantive DI’s. The government-led, multi-agency Prevent programme aims to stop individuals being exploited by extremists and so we work with local authority partners and community organisations to help find solutions and work to support and protect people vulnerable to radicalisation. The role of the Detective Inspector is to deliver the policing mission within the national Counter Terrorism Strategy and discharge its Prevent duty requirements (as set within the Counter Terrorism & Security Act 2015); namely “to prevent the vulnerable from being drawn into terrorism and to prevent extremists from escalating into terrorism & radicalising others”. This is a busy and varied role where your work will be instrumental in enhancing national security.
