Summary: The Press Officer role is situated within a dynamic media team focused on consumer public relations and commercial priorities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with media stakeholders
  • Pitch stories to media outlets and respond to journalist enquiries
  • Develop briefing materials for spokespeople and manage media interviews
  • Work collaboratively with teams across External Affairs, Policy, Strategic Communications, and Internal Communications to support delivery of communications objectives
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork, a sharp news sense, and the ability to interpret complex information quickly
  • Operate effectively under pressure, particularly when public statements are subject to scrutiny
  • Act as a member of the crisis communications team
  • Maintain professionalism, sound judgement, and composure under pressure
  • Advise senior stakeholders on the impact of media coverage on corporate reputation
  • Provide communications support during high-pressure or peak operational periods
