Summary: The Press Officer role is situated within a dynamic media team focused on consumer public relations and commercial priorities. The position requires building strong media relationships, pitching stories, and managing communications during high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, initiative, and the ability to produce high-quality output in a fast-paced environment. This role is expected to last between 3 to 6 months and involves a hybrid working arrangement with 2-3 days per week onsite in Hounslow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with media stakeholders
- Pitch stories to media outlets and respond to journalist enquiries
- Develop briefing materials for spokespeople and manage media interviews
- Work collaboratively with teams across External Affairs, Policy, Strategic Communications, and Internal Communications to support delivery of communications objectives
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, a sharp news sense, and the ability to interpret complex information quickly
- Operate effectively under pressure, particularly when public statements are subject to scrutiny
- Act as a member of the crisis communications team
- Maintain professionalism, sound judgement, and composure under pressure
- Advise senior stakeholders on the impact of media coverage on corporate reputation
- Provide communications support during high-pressure or peak operational periods

- Experience in a corporate press office or media relations role (junior to mid-level)
