It improves communication and collaboration between departments, enables faster and more precise decision-making, and aids the directions we choose to make us more efficient and financially sustainable.We now have an exciting opportunity for a Power BI Developer, where you ll apply your expertise while working in partnership with Finance and HR colleagues and the business, to develop and maintain reports, providing vital, timely and accurate insights.You ll design, produce, maintain, and evolve reports, drawing on a variety of data sources specifically using Power BI as the reporting tool of choice. Employing the wider Microsoft 365 toolset to aid efficiency and install a robust end-to-end process will be a key aspect of your role. Ultimately, outputs need to meet the business requirements, ensuring the integrity of the data used by the Reporting Team. You ll support in managing initiatives to obtain data for the creation of new reports, and improvements to existing reports, incorporating a variety of visualisation techniques to leverage insight as well as supporting on continuous improvement initiatives.We are looking for someone with a background in data analytics or report development, ideally with experience in people and/or finance data.Key AccountabilitiesYour duties will include, but not be limited to:Ensure the business is provided with the data to monitor key performance indicators, scorecards and provide evidence for legal complianceProduce quality reports and dashboards from organisational briefs and requestsLiaise with requestors to understand the scope and feasibility of requestsAssess requests against policy to identify feasibility and provide build estimatesEnsure the integrity of reports and ensure that they are created in line with legal and TfL requirements, highlighting any anomalies to the Head of ReportingOversee initiatives, when required, by engaging appropriate stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver the product in the most effective and efficient waySkillsSkills, Knowledge & ExperienceProposing solutions to problems which may sometimes be complex; providing supporting information and evaluation (Essential)Strong logical and problem-solving capabilities and a high degree of initiative and creativity (Essential)Proficient with BI technologies (ideally Microsoft Power BI) with understanding of database management systems and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework (Essential)Strong stakeholder management (Essential)Excellent communication skills (written and oral) (Essential)Able to understand and edit Visual Basic for Applications code (VBA) (Desirable)KnowledgeKnowledge in converting the results of analysis into insights for end users (Essential)Knowledge of reporting tools and building reports.
