Summary: The Power Systems Design Engineer will work on a 12-month contract at a multi-function nuclear site in Cumbria, focusing on nuclear waste processing, storage, and decommissioning. This role is based in Warrington and offers a competitive day rate of up to £700. The position requires extensive experience in power systems design and relevant technical knowledge. The working arrangement is hybrid, allowing for a combination of office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop power systems for nuclear applications.
  • Conduct fault calculations and utilize ETAP modelling software.
  • Oversee protection and control systems for 11kV and 400V.
  • Design substations operating at 11kV and 400V.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on nuclear projects.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years in a similar power systems design position.
  • Degree educated (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related subject.
  • Knowledge of BS 60909 Fault Calculations and ETAP modelling software.
  • Protection and control systems experience (11kV and 400V).
  • 11kV and 400V substation design experience.
  • Minimum of grade C in English and Maths GCSE.
