Summary: The Power Systems Design Engineer will work on a 12-month contract at a multi-function nuclear site in Cumbria, focusing on nuclear waste processing, storage, and decommissioning. This role is based in Warrington and offers a competitive day rate of up to £700. The position requires extensive experience in power systems design and relevant technical knowledge. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop power systems for nuclear applications.
- Conduct fault calculations and utilize ETAP modelling software.
- Oversee protection and control systems for 11kV and 400V.
- Design substations operating at 11kV and 400V.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on nuclear projects.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years in a similar power systems design position.
- Degree educated (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related subject.
- Knowledge of BS 60909 Fault Calculations and ETAP modelling software.
- Protection and control systems experience (11kV and 400V).
- 11kV and 400V substation design experience.
- Minimum of grade C in English and Maths GCSE.
