About the Role
Our consultancy client is seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead technical architecture across multiple concurrent automation and low-code delivery projects.
Combining deep Microsoft Power Platform expertise with a solid full-stack engineering background, you will define end-to-end solution architectures, establish robust governance patterns, and provide hands-on leadership to agile delivery teams.
This role spans strategic decision-making and rapid prototyping, driving innovation across central government services.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture and Governance: Define and own end-to-end technical architecture (HLDs, LLDs, data models) across concurrent projects, presenting designs to Technical Design Authority (TDA) forums.
- Power Platform Stack: Architect scalable, secure enterprise solutions using the full Power Platform stack (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, and Dataverse).
- Strategy and ALM: Establish environment strategies, security role designs, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) patterns across the unit.
- Rapid Prototyping: Lead Proof-of-Concept (POC) and Proof-of-Value (POV) initiatives to quickly validate complex automation ideas with business stakeholders.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor development teams through code and design reviews, promoting engineering best practices, test coverage, and Secure by Design principles.
Key Requirements and Experience
- Technical Expertise: Strong background as a Solutions/Technical Architect backed by prior hands-on full-stack development experience (.NET/C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Python).
- Power Platform Mastery: Deep end-to-end architectural knowledge across Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI, and Power Pages.
- Cloud and Integration: Solid experience with Microsoft Azure services (Entra ID, API Management, Logic Apps) and enterprise integration patterns (REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven architectures).
- DevOps and ALM: Proven experience designing CI/CD pipelines and managing Power Platform ALM using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between business leaders, governance boards, and technical delivery teams.
Desirable Criteria
- Microsoft Certifications: PL-600 (Power Platform Solution Architect Expert) or AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Experience delivering within UK Public Sector/Government standards (GDS Service Standard, CDDO frameworks).
- Familiarity with secondary enterprise low-code platforms (eg, Mendix, ServiceNow, OutSystems).
