Summary: This contract role for a Power BI Specialist involves leading the establishment of a Power BI Centre of Excellence for a sustainability and environmental services provider. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights and align reporting solutions with business objectives. Key responsibilities include designing dashboards, integrating Databricks, and providing training on Power BI features. The position offers a significant opportunity for extension beyond the initial three-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and gather reporting needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects.
• Integrate Databricks with Power BI for seamless data workflows and reporting.
• Design user-friendly, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Develop and establish a Power BI Centre of Excellence to standardise BI practices.
• Define Power BI governance policies (consistency, scalability, security).
• Maintain Power BI best practices and documentation.
• Provide training to business users and team members on Power BI features.
• Lead workshops and create educational materials.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in Power BI development and BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
• Strong integration experience with Databricks for data analytics and reporting.
• Experience with SQL and Databricks.
• Knowledge of data modelling and working with large datasets.
• Experience establishing or managing Power BI Centers of Excellence (CoE).
• Experience in gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Solid understanding of data visualisation principles and best practices.
• Ability to mentor and train junior team members and end users on Power BI.
