Summary: This contract role seeks an experienced Power BI Specialist to contribute to a significant Microsoft Cloud transformation project. The candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering dashboards, transforming data into actionable insights, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Strong technical skills and stakeholder engagement are crucial for translating business needs into effective reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and gather reporting needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects.
  • Integrate Databricks with Power BI for seamless data workflows and reporting.
  • Design user-friendly, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Define Power BI governance policies (consistency, scalability, security).
  • Maintain Power BI best practices and documentation.
  • Provide training to business users and team members on Power BI features.
  • Lead workshops and create educational materials.

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in Power BI development and BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
  • Strong integration experience with Databricks for data analytics and reporting.
  • Experience with SQL and Databricks.
  • Knowledge of data modelling and working with large datasets.
  • Experience establishing or managing Power BI Centers of Excellence (CoE).
  • Experience in gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of data visualisation principles and best practices.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior team members and end users on Power BI.

Salary (Rate): £500 daily
