Power BI Developer

Summary: The role of Data Engineer/PowerBI Developer involves building a PowerBI capability for the Gas & Power Trading team of a leading energy client in London. The position requires the development of over 50 PowerBI reports from live trading data, with senior engineers collaborating closely with traders and analysts to ensure best practices. Key Responsibilities:

• Build a PowerBI capability within the Gas & Power Trading team.
• Develop over 50 PowerBI reports from live, streaming trading data.
• Collaborate with traders and analysts to implement best practices for dashboards.
• Provide tactical support for mid-level engineers.
• Lead the design of data models, transformation logic, and Power BI dashboards.
• Test, optimize, and integrate Power BI dashboards with data sources.
• Work with various data engineering elements such as PySpark, Lakehouses, and Kafka.
• Build reports from streaming data.
• Understand and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Engage with financial and trading aspects, particularly in energy commodities.

Key Skills:

• Data Engineering/PowerBI experience.
• Strong competence with Azure Databricks, SQL, Python, PowerBI, and DAX.
• Proven experience in designing data models and building Power BI dashboards.
• Good exposure to data engineering elements (PySpark, Lakehouses, Kafka).
• Experience with reports from streaming data.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Financial and/or trading exposure, particularly in energy commodities.
• Experience with ETRM systems, ideally Endur.
• Familiarity with mathematical and financial concepts.
