Key Responsibilities:
- Critically assess the early-stage Power BI setup, identify architectural and performance gaps, and propose improvements.
- Design and build intuitive, high-impact Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Configure and optimize the Power BI architecture for scalability and reliability.
- Connect to and query Snowflake’s pre-modelled fact and dimension tables.
- Optimize DAX expressions and streamline Power BI configurations to improve performance.
Key Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Service, including report creation and data modelling.
- Expertise in configuring Power BI’s stack for optimal performance.
- Experience with Snowflake and writing efficient SQL queries.
- Ability to assess immature BI setups and identify improvement opportunities.
- Confident communicator with collaborative skills across teams.

Power BI Developer

The Opportunity: We're partnering with a globally recognised business to find a Power BI Developer to enhance, optimise, and future-proof their reporting environment. The focus will be on implementing best practices, challenging and refining their current setup, and building a robust, high-performance Power BI stack. The role involves creating interactive dashboards and reports and providing expert guidance to ensure scalability and efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Power BI Environment Assessment : critically assess the early-stage Power BI setup, identify architectural and performance gaps, and propose pragmatic improvements aligned with industry standards.
- Dashboard & Report Development : Design and build intuitive, high-impact Power BI dashboards and reports, prioritising business-critical needs
- Architecture & Stack Optimisation : Configure and optimise the Power BI architecture (Desktop, Service, Snowflake connectors) to ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance.
- Snowflake Integration : Efficiently connect to and query Snowflake’s pre-modelled fact and dimension tables to support dynamic reporting needs.
- Performance Tuning : Optimise DAX expressions, refine Snowflake queries, and streamline Power BI configurations to improve load times and user experience
What We're Looking For:
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Service , including report creation, data modelling, and DAX
- Expertise in configuring Power BI’s stack (gateways, workspaces, Snowflake connectors) for optimal performance and scalability
- Experience of Snowflake , including writing efficient SQL queries .
- Ability to assess immature BI setups, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into a robust Power BI stack.
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with dbt (Data Build Tool)
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, cross-functional environment
- Microsoft Power BI certification
