Power BI Developer- D365 Finance and Operations

Summary: Our client is looking for a Senior Power BI Developer with experience in D365 Finance and Operations for a 6-month contract role based in London, UK. The position is hybrid and focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting through Power BI. The developer will work closely with the Enterprise Integration and Reporting team, as well as the Finance team, to meet business reporting needs. This role is classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimise, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that meet finance business needs.
• Work with finance stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into data models and visualisations.
• Connect to, transform, and model data from D365 Finance and Operations and other relevant systems.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting outputs.
• Assist in the governance and documentation of BI solutions, including data dictionaries and report inventories.
• Support the rollout of new Power BI capabilities and train users where necessary.
• Collaborate with IT Systems and Finance teams on data improvement initiatives and performance optimisation.

Key Skills:

• Multiple years' experience delivering Power BI solutions with hands-on experience working with D365 Finance and Operations data sources.
• Track record of delivering impactful and user-friendly reports to non-technical audiences.
• Solid understanding of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modelling best practices.
• Experience working with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, particularly its finance modules and data structures.
• Strong grasp of financial principles, terminology, and common reporting requirements.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Synapse, or similar tools (desirable but not essential).
