Summary: The PowerBI Consultant role involves supporting a boutique professional services firm in delivering BI dashboarding solutions for clients in the Private Equity and Investment Banking sectors. The consultant will be responsible for building and managing financial dashboards, ensuring high-quality outputs, and maintaining client relationships. This position requires a blend of strategic direction and detailed execution, with a focus on financial data and Power BI expertise. The role is expected to evolve from an initial dashboard build to a comprehensive suite of dashboards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clean, well-structured, and documented outputs.
- Build high-quality slide decks, briefing materials, simple models, and written outputs to tight timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, representing the firm’s work with confidence and credibility.
- Maintain trust with the client team by anticipating needs and delivering reliably on commitments.
- Serve as the visible “face” of the engagement when founders are not present.
- Move fluidly between high-level direction setting and detailed execution.
- Take full ownership of tasks end to end, thriving without layers of support.
- Adapt quickly as priorities or external conditions shift while preserving overall programme coherence.
- Collaborate closely with senior founders involved in delivery.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in consulting.
- Proven track record of working directly with Financial Data.
- In-depth Power BI expertise.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Fabric and semantic models.

The Client: A boutique professional services firm that help companies within the Private Equity and Investment Banking. They specialise in Financial Modelling, Performance Dashboards, Ai & Automation and FP&A as a service.
The Project: One of the firm's clients is looking for a PowerBI Consultant Power BI to support a BI dashboarding requirement across their organisation. This project will start with a defined dashboard build but is expected to expand into a broader suite of dashboards covering the whole business. This initial dashboard should cover financial data themes such as:
- New customer signups (by category)
- Customer attrition
- Revenue vs Forecast/Budget
- Sales pipeline and commercial performance
Responsibilities
- To deliver clean, well-structured and documented outputs.
- Build high quality slide decks, briefing materials, simple models and written outputs personally, to tight timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, representing the firm’s work with confidence, credibility and gravitas.
- Maintain trust with the client team by anticipating needs, providing thoughtful challenge and delivering reliably on commitments.
- Serve as the visible “face” of the engagement when the founders are not present, protecting and enhancing the firm’s reputation.
- Move fluidly between high level direction setting and detailed execution, depending on what the situation requires.
- Take full ownership of tasks end to end, thriving without layers of support or large project teams.
