Summary: The role of Power Apps and SQL Technical Consultant involves leading modernization and optimization projects for London Market Insurance clients. The consultant will focus on application remediation, automation, database performance improvement, and environment migration. This hands-on position requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The consultant will also enhance reporting and data management processes while maturing application lifecycle practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the current suite of Power Apps, identify performance or design issues, deliver remediation work, and establish development standards for future applications.
- Review the existing manual process for issuing key monthly reports and design an SQL-based automated solution to streamline and standardise delivery.
- Analyse database structures and performance, recommend optimisation strategies, and implement improvements to support increasing data volumes.
- Plan and execute the migration of older applications from the default environment into a structured multi-environment setup, aligned with best-practice ALM.
Key Skills:
- 5 + years recent experience of working in Financial Services, ideally in Insurance
- Strong, demonstrable experience with Microsoft Power Apps
- Solid SQL experience, including database optimisation & automation
- Understanding of application lifecycle management and environment strategies
- Ability to review existing systems and recommend practical improvements
- Comfortable owning end-to-end technical delivery

About the Role
The consultant will take the lead on reviewing Legacy solutions, enhancing reporting and data management processes, and helping mature application lifecycle practices. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to work autonomously.
Key Responsibilities

Power Apps Review & Remediation
Assess the current suite of Power Apps, identify performance or design issues, deliver remediation work, and establish development standards for future applications. -
Automation of Monthly Performance Reporting
Review the existing manual process for issuing key monthly reports and design an SQL-based automated solution to streamline and standardise delivery. -
SQL Database Performance Optimisation
