Summary: The role of PostgresSQL DBA requires an experienced database administrator with active SC clearance to work with a key client in London. The position involves a hybrid working arrangement, requiring 2-3 days on-site in Croydon each week. Key Responsibilities:
- Database Design & Optimisation: Ensure efficient schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimisation to support performance and scalability.
- Security & Compliance: Implement robust access controls, encryption, and auditing to meet security standards and compliance requirements.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain automated backup routines and disaster recovery plans to guarantee data integrity and availability.
- Performance Monitoring: Use PostgreSQL tools and monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Patch Management & Upgrades: Ensure managed AWS Postgres instances are at an appropriate patched version.
Key Skills:
- Experience as a DBA with PostgreSQL.
- Active SC Clearance.
- Knowledge of database design and optimisation techniques.
- Experience with security compliance and access controls.
- Proficiency in backup and recovery strategies.
- Ability to monitor performance and resolve bottlenecks.
