Summary: This role involves managing the Portering Team at The Royal Oldham Hospital, ensuring high standards of customer service and supporting management in delivering professional services. The Porter Duty Manager will monitor systems and teams, deputise for the Portering Manager, and demonstrate flexibility in shift patterns, including nights and weekends. The position is part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, which provides integrated health and social care services across Greater Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Portering Department.
- Deputise for the Portering and Waste Manager as necessary.
- Maintain high standards of customer service.
- Support management and core teams in delivering professional services.
- Monitor and assess systems and teams to ensure customer-centered service delivery.
- Assist the Portering Manager in the effective management of Portering Services.

An opportunity has arisen to join our busy Portering Team at The Royal Oldham Hospital. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the department and deputising for the portering and waste manager when necessary. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service at all times and actively support management and all of the core teams in delivering a professional service to all of our customers. You will take a lead during your shift in monitoring, by assessing and monitoring systems and teams in ensuring we deliver a professional and customer centred service in line with all policies and procedures. You will also deputise for the Portering Manager, as and when required, in relation to Portering Services. You will need to demonstrate a flexibilty to shift patterns as the roles will also need to cover nights, weekends and Bank Holidays when necessary.
