PMO Lead - Technology/Change - Banking Domain - Security Clearance

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to support complex technology and business change programmes within a major financial institution.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PMO professional who can operate confidently across programme and project environments, providing strong governance, reporting, planning, financial oversight and stakeholder management.

The successful candidate will be expected to challenge constructively, analyse programme information and provide meaningful insight rather than simply coordinate or report.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning and delivery across complex business and IT programmes.
  • Own and manage RAID logs, ensuring risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies are actively monitored.
  • Produce high-quality programme reporting, analysis and management information.
  • Track KPIs and identify capacity, resource and performance issues.
  • Support budget management and financial forecasting.
  • Coordinate governance forums, Boards and Steering Committees.
  • Prepare agendas, presentations, briefing papers and status reports.
  • Manage actions and follow-ups from governance meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to PMO governance and change control processes.
  • Analyse programme data and challenge assumptions where appropriate.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a key point of contact and support the Project/Programme Manager in their absence.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and PMO maturity.
  • Mentor and support junior PMO team members where required.

Essential Experience: The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong experience working within a PMO environment.
  • Experience supporting complex business and IT programmes/projects.
  • Strong programme reporting and analytical experience.
  • Proven ownership of RAID management.
  • Experience with budget tracking and financial forecasting.
  • Strong governance and change control experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to constructively challenge programme teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience producing reports, presentations, briefing papers and management information.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other PMO professionals.
  • Excellent MS Excel and Microsoft Project skills.
  • Current SC Clearance.

Desirable Experience

  • Enterprise PPM tools such as Planview, Changepoint or Oracle PPM.
  • PRINCE2, MSP, P3O, MoR, APM, PMP/PMI or similar qualifications.
  • Experience within large enterprise, public sector or regulated environments.
  • Large-scale transformation or portfolio-level PMO experience.
