Summary: The PMO Lead will play a crucial role in driving operational change across multiple portfolios within a client focused on transforming the UK's digital infrastructure. This position involves supporting senior management in ensuring effective governance, reporting, and coordination of projects to achieve business change initiatives. The role requires strong leadership in an agile environment and collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver results. The PMO Lead will also promote data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop tools and processes for capturing and managing change demand.
  • Provide clear reporting on portfolio progress, supplier activity, and delivery performance.
  • Champion best practices in portfolio management, ensuring visibility of risks and interdependencies.
  • Drive governance and control, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, project managers, and third-party suppliers to ensure effective execution of change initiatives.
  • Monitor and track PMO activities using appropriate project management tools.
  • Ensure business cases drive change initiatives and benefits are realised.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement in project delivery.

  • Strong experience in PMO leadership within an agile environment.
  • Expertise in project governance, risk management, and process improvement.
  • Proven track record of delivering automated solutions in a fast-paced, customer-centric organisation.
  • Excellent planning, communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with BPO outsourcers and tech suppliers (desirable).
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of project management software (PPM, MS Project, etc.).
  • Lean Six Sigma qualification (desirable).
  • Telecoms industry experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of organisational functions such as Marketing, Product, Technology, Compliance, Legal, Procurement, and Operations (desirable).
