Summary: The PMO role in Leeds involves providing senior-level oversight and governance across complex programmes and portfolios, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives through robust project management and Agile methodologies. The position requires a minimum of 15 years of experience and entails leading project planning, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation. The PMO will act as a liaison between delivery teams and leadership, ensuring transparency and control throughout the project life cycle. This is a contract position for 6 months, requiring in-office presence 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end planning and organisation across multiple projects and programmes, defining clear objectives, delivery milestones, and success criteria
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure efficient delivery
- Establish and enforce PMO governance frameworks, standards, and best practices
- Provide stakeholder management at senior and executive level, ensuring alignment, clear communication, and timely decision-making
- Drive Agile ways of working, supporting teams in Agile delivery while balancing governance and control
- Deliver clear, concise status reporting, dashboards, and portfolio insights to leadership
- Proactively manage risk, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delivery impact
- Act as a trusted advisor, resolving complex problems quickly to keep programmes on track
Key Skills:
- 15+ years' experience in PMO, project, or programme management roles
- Strong background in Project Management across large-scale or complex initiatives
- Proven expertise in Stakeholder Management, including senior and executive stakeholders
- Hands-on experience working within Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid models)
- Exceptional planning, organisation, and coordination skills
- Strong risk management and problem-solving capability
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams
