PMO Consultant - Claims Management

We are seeking an experienced PMO Consultant to support the delivery of a high-profile, multi-workstream regulatory programme focused on improving practices within the claims management market and delivering better outcomes for consumers.

Working alongside the Change Lead, Senior Programme Manager, Project Managers and workstream leads, you will provide end-to-end PMO support whilst undertaking light-touch project management activities where required. This is a hands-on delivery role that requires someone who is highly organised, proactive and comfortable operating within a complex stakeholder environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining integrated programme plans, milestones and delivery schedules.
  • Driving delivery across multiple workstreams by tracking progress, dependencies and key milestones.
  • Managing programme governance, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, producing minutes and tracking actions.
  • Maintaining RAID, decision and dependency logs, ensuring ownership and timely resolution.
  • Producing high-quality reporting packs, dashboards, RAG status reports and governance papers for senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting programme financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, variance analysis and expenditure tracking.
  • Maintaining programme documentation, version control and configuration management.
  • Supporting effective stakeholder engagement and providing accurate management information to enable informed decision making.
  • Identifying delivery risks and escalating issues appropriately to maintain programme momentum.

Skills & Experience

  • We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
  • Experience operating as the sole PMO on complex, multi-workstream programmes.
  • Strong programme governance experience, including board packs, reporting, agendas and minutes.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling and dependency management skills.
  • Proven experience managing RAID logs, action tracking and decision management.
  • Strong financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the confidence to engage senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, delivery risks and corrective actions.
  • Advanced MS Office skills together with experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Clarity, Clarizen or equivalent.
  • A recognised project or programme management qualification such as PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, P3O or Agile certification.

Desirable

  • Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
  • Regulatory change programmes.
  • Financial services or consumer finance.
  • Claims management or regulatory reviews.
  • Supporting public consultations or policy development.
  • Previous experience working with regulatory bodies.
  • Coaching or supporting teams in project management best practice.
