PMO Assurance Manager

The PMO Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that technology portfolio projects are delivered in line with technology delivery & governance framework.

Key outcomes for this role include: supporting delivery teams, providing portfolio oversight & assurance, ensuring compliance with delivery frameworks and governance models, ensuring risks are managed and delivery is consistent and predictable, ensuring benefit realisation.

Delivery Assurance & Oversight

  • Monitor/assure performance of all Tech delivery projects.
  • Own the operationalisation of, and provide guidance for the technology delivery & governance framework.
  • Conduct project assurance reviews and health checks.
  • Identify delivery performance trends and insights, presenting risks & opportunities.
  • Ensure an active monitoring of dependencies particularly in relation to change requests, scenario planning or plan slippage.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to PMO governance frameworks, methodologies, and standards.
  • Support the implementation of portfolio controls and reporting mechanisms.
  • Facilitate key delivery assurance forums and governance boards; ensure appropriate inputs and outputs are available and documented.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to delivery managers, resource or competency leads, and senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitate delivery assurance forums and governance boards.
  • Provide clear, concise reporting and insights to executive leadership.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the Lead PMO Analyst and PMO Coordinator.
  • Set objectives, conduct regular reviews, and support career development of your team.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture across the all teams and roles you interact with.
  • Partner with Finance, Strategy, and Delivery teams to align on KPI metrics, insights and foresight to appropriate audiences/forums.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on portfolio health and strategic direction.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery practices, reporting, insight/foresight and PMO processes.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance project quality, predictability, and outcomes.
  • Support capability development across the PMO and delivery teams.

Portfolio Reporting

  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of portfolio-level reporting.
  • Provide insights and analysis on delivery trends, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Extensive experience of working in PMO function and leading PMO teams.
  • Working in complex transformation programmes.
  • Atlassian products - Confluence, Jira.
  • MS Project.
  • Extensive experience of providing exceptional reporting adhering to pre-defined governance models and ways of working.

This temporary contract is inside IR35 and will require working under the direction of the client delivery manager as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will follow established delivery processes and working practices.
