Summary: The PMO Analyst role involves supporting a London Market insurer's Change function by providing centralized portfolio management, governance, planning, reporting, and operational support. The position requires maintaining portfolio visibility, supporting governance processes, and ensuring robust reporting to facilitate successful project delivery across various business and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex change portfolios within the insurance or financial services sector. This role is classified as outside IR35 and offers a competitive market rate with an initial 6-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and maintain Level 1 and Level 2 portfolio plans across the change portfolio
- Develop and manage the consolidated portfolio roadmap, key milestones, delivery dates, and critical dependencies
- Support quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc portfolio planning activities
- Track portfolio delivery progress and escalate risks, delays, and resource constraints
- Administer and maintain the central implementation tracker
- Manage resource tracking, utilisation reporting, and capacity planning activities
- Review and assure project documentation and governance artefacts
- Track actions, decisions, and outcomes from governance forums
- Maintain PMO standards, frameworks, templates, and best practice guidance
- Support project financial and commercial administration activities
- Coordinate governance meetings, reporting cycles, and portfolio administration processes
- Produce high-quality reporting packs and management information for senior governance forums and executive stakeholders
Key Skills:
- Experienced PMO Analyst with a strong background supporting complex change portfolios within Insurance or Financial Services
- Proven experience maintaining portfolio plans, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and delivery schedules across multiple concurrent projects and programmes
- Strong portfolio reporting experience, including tracking progress against plans, identifying delivery risks, and providing management information to senior stakeholders
- Experience owning and administering central implementation trackers and coordinating regular project status reporting
- Strong resource management experience, including resource tracking, utilisation reporting, forecasting, and capacity planning
- Ability to identify resource constraints, capability gaps, future demand requirements, and delivery conflicts across portfolios
- Experience supporting project governance throughout the full project life cycle, ensuring adherence to governance frameworks and delivery standards
- Strong understanding of project management artefacts including PIDs, RAID logs, project plans, cost trackers, closure reports, and handover documentation
- Experience supporting governance forums including Steering Committees, Project Oversight Groups, Technology Committees, and Executive-level governance boards
- Proven track record maintaining PMO frameworks, methodologies, templates, guidance documentation, and delivery standards
- Experience producing governance packs, portfolio reports, dashboards, and management information for senior stakeholders
- Exposure to project financial administration including invoice processing, contract administration, budget tracking, and commercial controls
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with Project Managers, Programme Managers, Technology teams, and business stakeholders
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and project reporting skills with a highly organised and detail-oriented approach
