A large infrastructure organisation is managing a delivery budget that has grown several times over in under two years, with further substantial growth already forecast for the year ahead.
That scale of growth places real pressure on governance.
The organisation needs the ability to identify risk early, maintain accurate forecast visibility, and provide credible assurance to an external funding body on delivery and spend.
This is where the role sits.
The successful candidate will work across major engineering delivery, with some involvement in tech implementation governance, interpreting delivery team reporting to determine where risks or issues may affect planned spend or timelines, and ensuring leadership is informed early enough to act.
Skills and experience required
- Strong budget and forecast management, with the ability to translate delivery activity into accurate financial and schedule visibility.
- Confidence to challenge delivery teams and senior leadership constructively, backed by sound governance judgement rather than passive status reporting.
- A genuine project controls or PMO background, distinct from project delivery or project management experience.
- Experience governing or supporting tech implementation projects would be advantageous.
This is a six-month engagement, day rate, inside IR35, with three days a week required in the office.
The process moves straight to an in-person conversation and the organisation is looking to appoint promptly.
