Summary: The role of Platform Solution Architect focuses on driving enterprise-scale engineering transformation within a leading bank, specifically through the re-architecting of monolithic systems into scalable microservices-based platforms. The position requires a technical expert with a strong background in software design and architecture, particularly in GCP. This is a hybrid role based in London, requiring three days a week on-site. The contract duration is an initial six months and is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive enterprise-scale engineering transformation and re-architect client monoliths into microservices-based platforms.
  • Act as a technical expert in software design and architecture.
  • Maintain high engineering standards and provide leadership and motivation to the team.
  • Define end-to-end enterprise architecture.
  • Lead the development of large-scale, complex, and distributed applications using GCP.
  • Implement software design/architectural concepts such as Event-driven Architecture and Microservices.
  • Utilize containers and build container-based platforms using GKE.
  • Apply DevOps/automation practices including CI, CD, and observability.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in defining end-to-end enterprise architecture.
  • Experience in leading large-scale, complex, and distributed applications development of Cloud-native solutions using GCP.
  • Excellent knowledge of software design/architectural concepts.
  • Software development background with exposure to multiple programming languages (Java, C#, Go, Scala, Python).
  • Experience with containers and building platforms using GKE.
  • DevOps/automation experience.

Salary (Rate): £750
