Summary: The Platform Engineer role is a 6-month contract position based in Telford, requiring on-site work for 2 days per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong public sector background and will be responsible for designing and maintaining cloud platforms, automating infrastructure deployment, and ensuring compliance with security standards. This position is classified as Inside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platforms to support public sector services.
• Work within Agile delivery teams to develop infrastructure solutions that meet business and security requirements.
• Automate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Support containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and security compliance.
• Collaborate with developers, security specialists, and operations teams to enhance platform capabilities.
• Ensure alignment with public sector governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers on best practices and DevOps methodologies.

Key Skills:

• Public Sector Experience - Strong background working in government or public sector organizations.
• Cloud Expertise - Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including security and cost optimization.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• CI/CD & Automation - Proficiency in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Containerization & Orchestration - Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitoring & Logging - Knowledge of tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or CloudWatch.
