AWS Platform Engineer - Outside IR35 - Midlands based only
A client of Amass Technology are on the search for an experienced AWS Platform Engineer with strong expertise IN AWS, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (iac)
The initial focus will be on reviewing the existing AWS environment and identifying and addressing gaps against regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to improve security controls, infrastructure, processes, and documentation, ensuring the organisation is well prepared for the audit.
Alongside the compliance programme, you will support the planned migration of existing applications from a Tower HPC environment to a modern, automated Infrastructure as Code platform. This will involve assessing the current environment, understanding application dependencies, identifying migration risks, and helping define and implement the target architecture.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can assess an existing environment, identify areas for improvement, and then take ownership of delivering practical technical solutions.
Key Experience Required
- Strong hands-on AWS platform engineering experience.
- Extensive experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience reviewing existing infrastructure, identifying security and operational gaps, and implementing improvements.
- Good understanding of AWS security, networking, monitoring, access management, resilience, and governance.
- Proven experience supporting infrastructure or application migrations, ideally involving Legacy or complex environments.
- Ability to work effectively across technical, security, compliance, and business teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise and deliver improvements within tight timescales.
This opportunity will be 5 days per week on-site in Birmingham.
