About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join a dynamic team for a critical infrastructure project. The role focuses on managing and optimising infrastructure at scale, with an emphasis on automation, containerisation, and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Utilise Infrastructure as Code practices with Kubernetes and related satellite technologies.
- Develop and maintain custom tooling, including command-line tools for automating infrastructure decommissioning activities.
- Manage and optimise high-scale event-based distributed systems (eg, Kafka, Cassandra, Postgres) and implement effective load-balancing solutions.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines in a GitHub environment.
- Monitor distributed systems using tools like OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Contribute to the development of scalable, robust systems with a focus on performance and reliability.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies.
- Coding experience beyond basic Scripting, preferably in GoLang.
- Hands-on experience with distributed system infrastructure, including Kafka, Cassandra, and Postgres.
- Proven ability to create and optimise custom command-line tools for automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in CI/CD environments and working with code-based deployment pipelines.
- Background in managing large-scale, event-driven systems.
- Knowledge of container orchestration and scalable infrastructure solutions.
